Kinjo-cho Ishidatami stone path

The Kinjo-cho Ishidatami stone path is the last remnant of a state administered, 4km long road, Madamamichi, built in 1522 between the Madanbashi Bridge in Kokuba and Shurijo Castle. Most of the road was destroyed during the Battle of Okinawa (WW2), but the 238m long stretch surviving in Kinjo-cho still offers a glimpse into the area’s past splendor.
